OUTDOORS: Go for a family walk

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

This is one of our favourite walks from the bridge in Kingston Upon Thames. It takes you through parts of Home Park and Bushy Park. You’ll be keeping healthy and there is some brilliant wildlife to be seen including many different types of birds, deer and other mammals as well as lots of trees with mistletoe hanging in the branches. This is a circular walk of about 5 Kilometres and takes a couple of hours, or more, if you stop off at the playground in Bushy Park or the ponds to throw sticks in the water. Of course you can deviate from the route and explore further if you want. Don’t forget to pack some snacks and a drink and print off the spotter sheet below. Just before the walk ends, there is a great ice cream shop next to the skate park – enjoy!

Take ‘Stephen’s Bird Walk’ spotter sheet with you and see if you can spot all the birds on it .

Get your adult to take photographs of you doing the walk, send them to us and let us know you did it, we’ll put you on the website!
